For those considering
cremation, an increasingly popular choice, Graceland offers many options for single,
companion and family spaces.
In ground choices include traditional burial lots in natural settings throughout
Graceland, or near our soon-to-be restored Chapel, in our new Columbaria Garden
on Chapel Hill.
Our Columbarium
Garden Wall provides an ideal setting for remembrance and repose – a place
of honor in harmony with the history and natural beauty of Graceland. And, it’s
a welcoming and convenient setting for loved ones to visit and offer remembrances.
Designed by the award-winning Chicago architectural and landscape firms of Eifler
& Associates and Wolff Associates, the walled garden curves gracefully around
a center fountain. The red granite matches the historic chapel, and native plantings
add to the beauty of the site, which overlooks the Ridgeland area of the Cemetery
and Lake Willomere.
Cremated remains
are buried either behind the wall or at its base, and bronze memorial plaques,
in a variety of sizes for individuals, couples or families are placed along
the wall at the location of your choice.
When the Chapel
restoration is complete, indoor columbarium niches will be available in the
“Arts & Crafts” style interior.
